In a significant development for the digital publishing industry, Lumina Datamatics has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Chennai-based TNQ Technologies for ₹336 crore. The acquisition, aimed at strengthening Lumina’s capabilities in AI-enabled publishing services, will be executed in two phases. The company will acquire an 80% stake by December 2024, with the remaining 20% to be completed by July 2026, linked to TNQ’s EBITDA performance during this period.
This strategic acquisition marks a major milestone for Lumina Datamatics, which is part of the Datamatics Global Services family. It is expected to boost Lumina’s workforce to over 6,500 employees worldwide, cementing its position as a leader in content services for commercial publishers, academic societies, and university presses.
TNQ Technologies, renowned for its AI-driven publishing tools and solutions, will become a stepdown subsidiary of Datamatics Global Services post-acquisition. Sameer Kanodia, Managing Director and CEO of Lumina Datamatics, highlighted that the deal aligns with the company’s vision of delivering cutting-edge publishing solutions.
